How to choose your color palette

Base



Before you go unloading your whole closet, you can simplify this process with a plan.


First, pick your palette.



Start by selecting a base, whether that is neutral tones or jewel tones.

Colors


Think rust, soft blues, sage, tan, off white or be bold and use a brighter color like mustard, burgundy or pink.


These colors should complement the neutrals and nearly-neutrals that you're already using. 

Accessories


Finish off by adding nonessential clothing items such as jackets, cardigans, hats, scarfs


Statement accessories such as watches, bow ties, bracelets and jewelry that fits the core and accent colors.

What about Black or White?



These are fine colors to use, the reason it is not recommended for The Base is due to meshing. When multiple people use black for instance, it tends to blend in creating a large blank space in images. The other issue is not all Black is the same. One member could wear Green-Black while the others are in a Blue-Black.

White also comes in multiple shades, but the true reason I don't recommended a ton of white is due to my editing style. My editing consists of warm, richer tones and typically clients who book with me want tons of color and not bright and airy.


This being said all Black/White outfits can absolutely work and this should not discourage you fro choosing this palette! Below are some ways all Black/White work without blending, utilizing textures and patterns to break apart the void!
